Zoe Guitars believes that it is important to give back to our community, both locally and globally. We try to make a difference by donating either our time or actual guitars to worthy causes.
STRINGS is a veteran peer support group. Veterans come together to further their guitar playing skills. In a relaxed environment, veterans are encouraged to interact, collaborate, and express themselves through the use of the guitar. The veterans meet twice a week to check on each other and play guitars.
Shawn gave the STRINGS group a tour of his shop and shared about the many types of tone woods and details that go Into building a guitar. After the tour veterans enjoyed hanging out and playing some songs.
Zoe Guitars considers it a privilege to host our nation's heroes and we look forward to the STRINGS group coming by again soon.

This video pertains to the story below . . . . Johnne was so excited and emotional about his new guitar. He immediately offered to play this song for Sally. (Sorry for all of the background noise.)
(Written by Ted Peterson)
During the Saturday evening service RCA (Riverside Christian Assembly) had the privilege of honoring two combat veterans. Ted Peterson shared a little about each veteran. The two were then called up and given custom hand made guitars courtesy of guitar builder Shawn Weimer, owner of Zoe Guitars.
Shawn and Ted met in the summer of 2021 and the two play guitars and often discuss the therapeutic benefits of playing the guitar. Shawn and his wife, Sally, have endured trauma and understand first hand how playing helps a person. Shawn and Sally have led worship all over the world in the missions fields. Shawn felt moved to bless two veterans with his custom made guitars.
Ted often refers to guitars as “six strings of therapy.” Many veterans and civilians alike play the guitar, and use it as an emotional outlet.
The two veterans David (Iraq War) and Johnnie (Vietnam War) were surprised and grateful. Johnnie helped Ted lead worship and had no idea that he was receiving one of these beautiful instruments. He was moved to tears as he thanked everyone.
Thanks RCA and Zoe Guitars for honoring our Warriors.

I want to thank all the people over the years who I’ve met and who have been a part of my success. Without all of you, this journey would have been a glass half-full. Especially, to the musicians that have trusted me and my art enough to allow my instruments to be a part of your brand.
After a lot of contemplation and going back-and-forth, I’ve decided to retire at the end of June. The decision is definitely bittersweet, but feel like the timing is perfect to pursue the next chapter. Thank you!
